Queensland Map Collection
There may be only one more thing you need, and that is good area maps. HEMA maps are the best ones in Australia and the ones that I use myself. They are the most comprehensive and detailed maps that you find. Click above for a variety of different Queensland maps that may be of help if you are driving to Cape York through Queensland - whether you come from south or west.

Map of Cape York
And here is the map that covers the whole Cape York peninsula. This is the map that I use on my trips and it is excellent.
Here is a page with some great looking Cape York posters. On the poster here is the famous Palm Cockatoo - found nowhere else in Australia. They can be hard to see and even harder to get photos of. I have hardly ever seen a better photo of a "palmie" than the one on this poster.
And here are some photos that I have taken myself. If you want to use any of them please contact me. I most likely give you the permission but I want to know about it when it's used somewhere.
Cape York Travel Information Centres
And here is a page where you can find the contact details to Tourist Information Centres in Cape York. It's handy if you need more information about anything. They are locals who know their area.
