How Long Time for Doing Cape York?

How Long Time for Doing Cape York?

by Hayley
(Brisbane)

I was just wondering if you could give me an idea of how many days I would need to travel from Brisbane to Cape York - Including the return trip and going on the Old Telegraph Track.

Thanks - Your website is awesome!

Hi Hayley

Thanks for the comment on the website :-)

The Old Telegraph Track only takes a day or two. The rest within Cape York is doable in two weeks (the main things only), some people, if time pressured try even quicker but it cuts down the time for fun.. ideally i recommend people have four weeks for the peninsula but i know not everyone has that time.

I am discussing the subject of how much time you need in my FREE pocket guide.

Brissi to Cairns is about 1700km along Bruce Highway, so if you need to save time, don't stop anywhere for a look around and can drive 850km a day you do it in two very long days, but three days is far more comfy with 567km a day. So i'd say for the return trip Brissi - Cairns you end up spending at least a week for that only (of course better if you do have more time).
