Pajinka

So, what happened in Pajinka???

You have driven at least 1000km and finally made your trip to the Tip of Australia - the northernmost point of mainland Australia, your expectations are right up and you won't be disappointed - you drive through some of the most beautiful rainforest called Lockerbie Scrub and once you reach the coast there are excellent views over emerald blue waters..

"Oh, but what was that?", you say as you drive past some abandoned buildings in total disrepair! How is this possible - HERE???

Everyone comments on Pajinka and everyone asks the same question - what the heck happened???

You stop your vehicle and have a look around and you get more and more astonished for every step you take. This was apparently a luxury multi zillion dollar resort, and it's not like the owner cared to clean up and sell the equipment - s/he has literally walked out and left millions of dollars worth of equipment to rot here in the bush!!???

There are cool rooms, solar panels, huge oil tanks, generators, you name it... all that could have been sold instead of leaving them behind - which owner could afford this???

You see the remains of a gate on the main road and work out that once upon a time you would have had to be the resort guest to drive the way to the Tip of Australia - the way you now drive for free.

On the left hand side of the gate are remains of a camping ground and a car park from which you would have had to walk to The Tip along a now-broken-down rainforest boardwalk if you weren't a guest of the resort.

Wow. What's happening???

Things normally improve over the time - how come in a place like THIS - right on the Tip of Australia they have fallen back like this??

Well you be disappointed to hear that I don't know the full answer. I have asked around and heard different stories, but I won't state anything here because I really don't know enough.
