Hi John,
by: Katrin

How expensive?

Is it at the Ford?

Is that the guy who used to come up here before the current ferry and do this during the dry season?

The current ferry is apparently an ex Daintree Ferry?

Anyone else who know some interesting history?

I can't remember how much it cost Katrin, it was 30 years ago :-(

I don't think it was at the ford. We just followed the track, and it led to the ferry.

I don't know who the operator was.

My daughter went on the ferry with a car that was there before us, and took the photo of us crossing from the Nth side.

Thanks John :-)

Appreciate :-)

Sorry for my curiosity, the Bypass Roads were built in the 1980s, do you remember if they were there?

If you followed just the end of the Old Telegraph Track, then it would have been the Ford (the current Ferry crossing is from the Bypass Roads).

Love the photo - thank you!

I can't remember a bypass, but it does not mean that there wasn't one Katrin.

I have another photo looking to the South at the ferry landing, and it shows a white building in the trees to the left of it.

Sorry that all the comments first need to get pending (I had to change the settings because spammers started putting their own irrelevant links).

That photo would be very interesting - in case you were happy to share it, I'd be very thankful if you liked to send it to info @ cape-york-austrlia.com (no spaces around @).

Would have been amazing to be up here 30 years ago!!

Thank you John :-)

Appreciated much :-)

And looks like it's not the Ferry Crossing of today, it's not exactly the Ford either.

Think it's very close to the Ford - the 1986 Ferry crossing, anyone?
